Hi. Looks like I've stumbled onto the beginnings of a very useful forum. Good luck with the new venture.

I'm a TAFE teacher in my late 40s. I am considering starting a local acoustic guitar players club and I think a forum would be a great communication / organisation tool.

I have no experience in running a forum, but I've been a member of quite a few over the years. I've found this phpbb3 software (do we call it software??? ) extremely easy to use and set up a simple forum from within an hour.

Hi, and thanks for joining. The sites currently just starting out, but i'm hoping to see it grow significantly in the future.

You're right in that forums are great for communicating between large groups of people, something that phones and instant messaging isn't really well suited to do. Good luck with your club.

You find you pick stuff up as you go along and, for stuff you can't work out, you're welcome to ask for help with . Yes, it is widely called software, though i'm not sure if that is a correct technical term. I know I won't be changing my name for it any time soon.

As for myself, i'm a student and I live in England. I'm a reasonably experienced webmaster, I run Advertisement Zone, the Forumhosters web hosting company and, of course, this site. I do some web development in my free time and i'm a developer of Ultimabb, i'm also currently working on my own browser-based online game (similar to the game Urbandead, who's wiki I have been a System Operator on for some time).
Anyway, that's about it, really. I'll probably update it a bit in later on when it's no 2:45am
